=========================================

I’m a little weary right now as this journey began on Wednesday and I really should have sent an email out then for prayer. As you know I have had concerns & many ups and downs with my folks in Arkansas. I really felt and it was unanimously agreed upon (by those near her in Arkansas) that my Mom needed help and probably couldn’t wait 2 weeks for me to come as planned. I am trying to get things together to leave early Sunday Morning.(Titia do you need to see your Mom in Arkansas?)

My Mom needs prayer largely for her mental & emotional state. She is very confused, very fearful of many things, and in general very depressed. Physically she’s not great, but still able to get around fairly well it appears. I hired care for her during the day until I could come and bring her home. I need prayer for wisdom, a spirit of kindness and patience, and a good memory to take care of all the tasks required to get her here in one piece with everything she needs.

My Dad needs prayer to overcome his concerns and fears for Mom and that he will continue to be well taken care of in the Nursing without anyone close by to check on him consistently. Of course the overriding questions will be if she will return to Arkansas or not and how long will it be to make such a decision? And then if we decide that Mom needs to stay, will Dad be willing to move as I certainly would not want to leave him on his own.

I’m reciting John 14:1 to myself…

Thanks for your prayers, Cindy

Dear HBF, We can praise the Lord along with Beth & Steve Van Winkle — her dad’s concern was caused by a leaking blood vessel. It was repaired by surgery that went fine and he is feeling better. Thanks, Beth, for the update, and thanks to all of you for your prayers. More details below. In Christ, Jay =========================================

Bro. Jay,

I thought I ought to update you on my Dad. The mass that the doctors saw on the CAT scan turned out to be blood that was leaking from a vessel in his chest.

The hospital in Stephenville transferred him to Ft. Worth to have the surgery to fix the vessel. He was in surgery for eight hours, but the doctor said he did get vessel repaired.

My Mom just called and said that they have put him in a regular room, instead of ICU, which is where he’s been since Thursday. He is starting to eat and is feeling better. Thank y’all so much for your prayers and support.

The doctors have told my Dad that it will take four to six months for his body to absorb the blood that leaked out. After that time they will do another CAT scan to make sure there are no other complications. He is also to take it easy and not do any strenuous labor for that time period. That will be hard for him since they live on a ranch that is always needing tended to. Thank you for your prayers and please continue praying for his speedy recovery.

PTL,

Dear HBF, I received this from Beth Van Winkle last night — see below. Thanks for praying!!! Jay Anderson =======================================

Bro. Jay,

I’m writing to ask for prayer for my Dad. He went into the hospital Monday afternoon because he was having severe cramping as a result of stomach virus. He was also having some chest pain and was concerned, as was my Mom.

The ER ran an EKG and the results were normal but they kept him over night for observation. Today his cramping was so severe they had to give him morphine to ease the pain. The doctors ran a CAT scan on his abdomen and chest area and have found some sort of mass. It is above his stomach and surrounds the pancreas. They don’t know what it is or from where it is coming.

The doctors decided to treat him with heavy doses of antibiotics for two days and then run another CAT scan to see if they get a better picture of what they are dealing with. Please pray for my Dads healing and strength and courage for my Mom. His name is Joe Wallace, my Mom’s name is Treva.

Thanks,

Beth Van Winkle

Greetings HBF Family,

The passage for this Sunday will be John 8:48-59. Jesus makes some bold claims that push the Jewish leaders to the boiling point. He has made bold claims before, to be sure, but these are the some of the grandest, helping to ensure His death. As a result, there can be no mistake about the deity of our Lord, and no question of His love for us.

Celebrate Him today!
